I feel that it’s only appropriate to address the storm that’s been consuming most of our lives for a little over a week. For typically-developing children and even well-adjusted adults, the hurricane hasn’t been easy. We’ve been out of power, heat, hot water, transportation, school, work and any sense of normalcy. Our routines are out of whack and the residual effects of the storm are still very present. Can you imagine what it’s like for children with special needs? How about a child with autism who thrives on routines?
