This past weekend I attended the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) annual convention in Chicago, IL. My college friend, Katie, and I met in Chicago and brushed up on all our speech and language skills. It was so inspiring to be in a convention center with so many SLPs. I attended several seminars that made me feel proud to be a part of such a passionate and well-versed discipline. The amount of research and evidence-based treatment protocols out there are such a strong testament to our field. I took away new information and therapy techniques to better serve my clients. The wheels are turning!
Future SLPs and current ones, I highly recommend that you attend ASHA. The continuing education and collaboration of minds will remind you why you became an SLP! :)
